Hosting a grey & white baby shower

I’ve been involved in a few baby showers over the last few years but have never had the chance to plan one solely from start to finish. As soon as my best friend announced her pregnancy to us earlier this year I’ve been pinteresting all of the cute baby shower idea’s I could think of. My only brief from her was that she wanted it to be held at her house & the colour scheme needed to match her very grey & white nursery. Both things I could completely get on board with.

Planned for the 9th September I had a guest list & set about inviting everyone she wanted to join us. Being called Sophie and as tall as a giraffe a Sophie La Girafe theme came about pretty naturally (as did a million gifts adorned in Giraffes). Equally I had a million fonts downloaded for wedding invite prep so that was pretty easy too.

Sophie’s house is a canvas of all tones of grey so I knew adding some cute decorations & pictures would just finish it off nicely. I picked up some bunting from a seller on eBay I’d used previously and hung it throughout the space. Being cotton we thought it was a nice addition for the nursery if she wanted too.

I used the same font as the invites to create signs to mark where gifts could be placed & where the sweet treats were ready. I also sneaked a few baby pictures from her mum to pop into little Ikea frames around the room.

For food & drink we went with the mum to be’s favorite picnic treats. Ham rolls, sausage rolls, cocktail sausages & all the cake. We also added this cute cake topper from Sophia Victoria Joy to the victoria sponge. Little grey and white chevron straws were a must have too – we love a paper straw!

I created party favors in the form wish bracelets for all of our guests to take away. Little giraffe charms on navy cord sealed in little bags – in our eyes are the perfect way to send a little wish for the mummy & baby.

For games I utilised the many idea’s on Pinterest & went for the celebrity baby game & the price is right – baby edition. I also made some prediction cards in the same theme for the parents to be to keep.

Finally a little light box next to the gifts was the perfect final additional to make the occasion.
